We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join a manufacturing organization in Rossford, Ohio. This role will manage core accounting activities, support accurate financial reporting, and help maintain strong compliance across payroll, job cost, and general ledger processes. The ideal candidate brings solid technical accounting skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to improve financial accuracy and reporting efficiency.
Job Responsibility
Manage day-to-day accounting activities across the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll-related entries, and job cost records
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments to support accurate monthly financial results
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, general ledger balances, and project cost reports, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
Monitor transaction coding to ensure expenses are assigned correctly to jobs, cost categories, and ledger accounts
Partner with operations, project leadership, and human resources to address payroll deductions, labor-related costs, and project financial data
Maintain complete financial documentation, including receipts and supporting records, to strengthen audit readiness and reporting accuracy
Compile financial statements and management reports such as profit and loss summaries, balance sheets, and work-in-progress or job cost analyses
Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, as well as budgeting, forecasting, and variance review
Support preparation of state and local filings, including payroll and sales or use tax submissions, while helping uphold compliance requirements
Recommend process and control improvements that enhance reconciliation quality, expense tracking, payroll data accuracy, and reporting effectiveness
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required
At least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing, construction, or job-cost-focused environment
Strong background in month-end close, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliation
Experience with bank reconciliations, work-in-progress reporting, and financial statement preparation
Practical knowledge of payroll accounting, employee deductions, and related compliance obligations
Familiarity with state and local tax requirements, including payroll tax and sales or use tax filings
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting systems and financial reporting tools
High level of accuracy, organization, discretion, and problem-solving ability when handling confidential financial information
