Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Saint Louis, Missouri. This role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance during a critical period. Ideal candidates will possess strong accounting expertise and thrive in a detail-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility:

Manage month-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy
Prepare and post journal entries while adhering to company policies
Conduct account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between financial records and statements
Handle accruals and other adjustments to maintain accurate financial data
Support financial audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports
Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless communication and workflow
Assist in transitioning information back to the returning employee after maternity leave
Contribute to the onboarding process for new client contracts, ensuring smooth financial operations

Requirements:

Proven experience in accounting, including month-end close and general ledger maintenance
Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations
Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes and accrual accounting
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines
Effective communication and teamwork abilities for collaborating across departments
Working knowledge of accounting software and tools
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
