Robert Half is seeking Senior Accountant to join our client in a hybrid, contract capacity in Portland, Oregon. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to essential accounting functions, including month-end close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The role requires someone with strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently within a collaborative environment.

Job Responsibility:

Manage month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts
Oversee benefits allocation, bonus and commission accruals, and fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, and depreciation
Handle multi-state sales tax activities, such as uploading sales data and recording remittances
Perform cash and bank reconciliations and update financial reports, schedules, and dashboards for leadership
Prepare borrowing base certificates and maintain backlog reporting while following up on outstanding items
Coordinate invoicing processes with internal teams and clients, ensuring timely adjustments to customer due dates
Support financial analysis and assist with budget preparation and accounting-related inquiries
Provide documentation, knowledge transfer, and participate in special projects assigned by leadership
Analyze data to deliver insights for finance and executive teams

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience with hands-on month-end close expertise
Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
Solid understanding of general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliation processes
Experience with bank reconciliations and managing financial reporting schedules
Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently within a trusted team environment
Familiarity with multi-state sales tax processes and financial documentation
Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
