We are looking for a skilled and meticulous Senior Accountant to join our team in Hogansburg, New York. In this role, you will oversee key financial operations, including month-end and year-end closing, financial reporting, and compliance with legal standards. This position is perfect for a proactive individual who excels in managing complex accounting tasks and identifying process improvements.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and detailed financial reports
Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
Compile and present internal and external financial statements in compliance with required standards
Oversee the management of fixed assets, including depreciation schedules and accruals
Collaborate with various departments to maintain financial consistency and accuracy
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis initiatives
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
Provide documentation and assistance during audits to meet organizational requirements
Identify and implement enhancements to accounting processes and workflows
Mentor less experienced accounting staff, offering guidance and support as needed

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in mid- to large-sized organizations
Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and internal controls
Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar platforms
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
High attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate financial management
