Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Metairie, Louisiana. This Contract to permanent position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, detail-oriented individual to contribute to full-cycle accounting operations, including month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting systems and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.

Job Responsibility:

Manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
Prepare and review journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial records
Perform reconciliations for balance sheets, bank accounts, and other financial accounts
Oversee general ledger activities and ensure compliance with accounting standards
Maintain and update inventory records, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting
Utilize accounting systems such as NetSuite or Shopify to streamline financial processes
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment on accounting practices and procedures
Provide support for audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations
Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes impacting accounting functions

Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting, including month-end close and reconciliations
Proficiency in preparing journal entries and managing general ledger accounts
Strong understanding of balance sheet and bank reconciliation processes
Familiarity with accounting systems
experience with NetSuite or Shopify is highly desirable
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Ability to adapt to new systems and technologies quickly
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
