Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Oberlin, Ohio. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing essential accounting functions, including month-end close processes, general ledger reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting and possess the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee the complete accounting cycle, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and adjustments
Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards
Reconcile general ledger accounts and address any discrepancies promptly
Process and review transactions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
Collaborate with various departments, including operations, supply chain, and finance, to support manufacturing processes
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries
Ensure adherence to accounting regulations, company policies, and internal controls
Handle large volumes of financial data with precision and maintain data integrity
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and automation

Requirements:

Proven expertise in month-end close processes and general ledger management
Strong ability to create and post journal entries accurately
Experience with account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
Proficiency in bank reconciliation procedures
Solid understanding of corporate accounting principles and practices
Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing or cross-functional team environment
Familiarity with compliance standards and internal controls
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
