Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Austin, Texas. This role requires someone with a strong attention to detail and a solid background in accounting processes, particularly in month-end close activities and financial reconciliations. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records while contributing to the continuous improvement of accounting procedures.

Job Responsibility:

Manage month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting
Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to support the month-end cycle and assist with various ad-hoc accounting projects
Handle daily accounting operations such as processing and coding invoices, addressing payment inquiries, and managing weekly payment runs
Perform bank reconciliations, record cash journal entries, and manage payment applications, accruals, and prepaid journal entries
Oversee company credit card reconciliations and reimbursement processes, ensuring adherence to company expense policies
Utilize automation tools to streamline and automate recurring monthly accounting entries
Maintain compliance with company financial policies and procedures, ensuring accurate and consistent record-keeping
Assist in improving accounting workflows and identifying opportunities for process enhancements

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business or Finance (Accounting preferred)
Basic operational knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Strong technical skills with proficiency in accounting ERP software
Intermediate excel skills (ie Pivot Tables, XLOOKUPS and Excel Automate Macros)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-driven with a strong sense of urgency, even under minimal supervision
Ok with change, wearing multiple hats, and being flexible in your day to day
Experience with prioritization, reliable, accurate and organized in a fast paced environment
Team player mentality, with the ability to work with all levels of employees, both internal and external, to ensure performance and excellent standards are maintained
Growth mindset, interested in learning, growing, and taking initiative

Nice to have:

Experience and knowledge with RPA and other automation software is a plus
