Our client is a leader in industrial equipment manufacturing and has an immediate need for a Senior Accountant. This position is responsible for supporting the accounting operations. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, project cost accounting, fixed asset management, compliance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS, and adherence to internal controls. The Senior Accountant works closely with project managers, operations teams, procurement, and senior management to provide financial insights that support business decisions and project profitability.
Job Responsibility
Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
Support general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes
Analyze financial results and provide variance explanations to management
Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records
Control accruals and provisions
Clean and reconcile accounts to ensure compliance
Monitor and track project costs, budgets, and expenditures for cement plant construction, service jobs and operational projects
Review project cost allocations and maintain detailed project accounting records
Analyze project profitability and provide regular cost performance reports
Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate forecasting and budget control
Contribute actively as a key user for the global project of SAP4hana implementation
Ensure improvement actions in the system to ensure productivity and accurate reporting
Maintain fixed asset registers for plant equipment, machinery, vehicles, and facilities
Track capital expenditures and work-in-progress (WIP) accounts
Calculate depreciation and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Support asset capitalization and project closeout processes
Support financial due diligence activities for acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic disinvestment
Review financial statements, accounting records, working capital requirements, and key financial metrics
Coordinate with external advisors, auditors, tax consultants, and legal teams during transaction processes
Ensure compliance with accounting standards related to business combinations, goodwill, intangible assets, and impairment testing
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5 plus years of Accounting experience
Strong experience with ERP systems preferably SAP S/4HANNA
Proficiency in SAP modules related to Finance and Controlling (FI/CO), Fixed Assets (AA), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Project Systems (PS)
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Fluent in English and Spanish
