Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our client's team on a long-term contract basis in Kansas City, Missouri. In this role, you will play a key part in managing critical accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to contribute to a dynamic organization in the services industry.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee and execute month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all entries comply with accounting standards
Prepare and post journal entries, verifying accuracy and completeness
Conduct account reconciliations, resolving any discrepancies promptly
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between bank statements and company records
Assist in preparing financial reports and supporting documentation for audits
Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in all accounting activities
Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights to management

Requirements:

Proven experience in managing month-end close processes with accuracy and efficiency
Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and related principles
Proficiency in preparing and reviewing journal entries
Demonstrated expertise in account and bank reconciliations
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to resolve discrepancies effectively
Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
