We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida, on a Contract to permanent position. In this role, you will manage accounting operations, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and support the team with bookkeeping responsibilities. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting commercial construction projects and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee month-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations
Manage and maintain the general ledger to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
Handle accounts payable tasks, including processing W8/W9 forms, COIs, and compliance paperwork
Prepare and oversee invoicing for general contractors and labor workers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
File sales tax returns and ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations
Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies efficiently
Utilize QuickBooks Enterprise and other relevant software to manage accounting operations
Support notary services as needed to facilitate financial documentation
Collaborate with team members to maintain organized and methodical accounting records
Ensure adherence to best practices in accounting and compliance within the construction industry

Requirements:

Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry
Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise and other accounting software
Strong knowledge of month-end close processes, general ledger management, and journal entries
Experience with accounts payable, including handling W8/W9 forms and compliance documents
Familiarity with filing sales tax and ensuring compliance with state and local regulations
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with colleagues
