We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Tacoma, Washington. This is a long-term contract position where you will play a key role in managing audits, tax reviews, and financial reconciliations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting background, a proactive attitude, and the ability to handle both high-level tasks and hands-on responsibilities.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct accurate and timely tax reviews, including trial balances and exemption assessments
Serve as the primary contact for audits, collaborating with external auditors and compiling necessary documentation
Perform detailed account reconciliations and ensure proper cash-to-accrual processes are implemented
Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger in alignment with accounting standards
Work closely with various departments and vendors to gather and organize financial information
Assist in reviewing audit partners' progress and ensure timely follow-through on outstanding items
Support smaller entity holdings audits and provide supplemental knowledge for internal processes
Oversee monthly and year-end financial close activities, ensuring all deadlines are met
Utilize Dynamics GP and Excel to manage reporting and financial templates effectively
Provide administrative support, including scanning documents and approving accounts payable
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including audits and reconciliations
Proficiency in accrual basis accounting and general ledger management
Strong knowledge of month-end close processes, journal entries, and bank reconciliations
Expertise in Dynamics GP or similar accounting software
familiarity with Excel for reporting
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and communicate effectively across departments
Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Experience working with external auditors and handling tax-related reviews
Willingness to take on both high-level responsibilities and hands-on tasks
