Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Fresno, California. In this role, you will take ownership of key accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise and a detail-oriented mindset to support critical processes such as month-end close and reconciliations.

Job Responsibility:

Ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounts payable and accounts receivable reports
Maintain vendor records and provide backup support when necessary
Perform monthly closing activities, including preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and generating analysis reports
Handle inter-company account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and cash clearing processes
Manage fixed assets by processing additions, transfers, and retirements, conducting asset inventories, and reconciling records to the general ledger
Prepare financial statements and support variance analysis for month-end close
Oversee lease schedules and ensure proper management of fixed assets
Contribute to the successful completion of month-end and year-end close processes
Conduct reviews and meetings related to fixed asset management
Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably at a senior level
Proficiency in account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations
Strong knowledge of general ledger maintenance and journal entry preparation
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
Expertise in month-end and year-end close processes
Ability to perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
