We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Burke, Virginia. This Contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance while supporting organizational goals. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing general ledger activities, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring journal entries are accurate and properly adjusted
Conduct monthly reconciliations of subsidiary journal entries to ensure financial data integrity
Prepare and update accounting records, generating comprehensive monthly financial statements and reports
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, collaborating with external audit firms to facilitate reviews
Handle quarterly billings and ensure timely and accurate processing
Maintain and update the fixed asset list, ensuring records are current and accurate
Assist in monitoring and managing investment funds, contributing to the preparation of annual budgets
Track delinquent accounts and initiate appropriate actions, including filing liens as necessary
Utilize accounting software, including Enumerate Central (Tops) and Microsoft Excel, to support financial operations

Requirements:

At least 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles
Proficiency in month-end close processes, journal entries, and general ledger management
Demonstrated skills in account reconciliation and bank reconciliations
Experience with financial reporting, including annual statements and maintaining financial records
Knowledge of fixed asset accounting and investment fund monitoring
Familiarity with accounting software like Enumerate Central (Tops) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong understanding of equity accounting and related financial principles
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
