Job Description

This is a remote position. Role Overview: We are looking for a high-ownership finance professional to manage end-to-end accounting across multiple global entities (US, India, and others) in a fast-paced, startup environment. This is a hands-on, execution-heavy role where you will initially operate in a lean setup (no junior support) and progressively build automation-driven accounting systems to scale operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage complete accounting lifecycle: bookkeeping, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close
  • Ensure accuracy across AR/AP, payroll, revenue, and expense tracking
  • Maintain clean and structured books across entities
  • Handle accounting for US and international entities (India, Canada, etc.)
  • Work closely with external accountants/CPAs for Payroll taxes, compliance, and reporting
  • Support and respond to tax notices, audits, and regulatory queries
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and local regulations
  • Manage financial consolidation across multiple entities
  • Handle: Intercompany transactions
  • Currency conversions
  • Cross-entity reconciliations
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements for internal reporting
  • Identify manual processes and build automation workflows
  • Implement improvements using tools like QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Excel, or integrations
  • Drive initiatives such as: Automated MIS reporting
  • Invoice generation workflows
  • Bank and system integrations
  • Work towards a highly efficient, low-manual accounting function
  • Prepare monthly MIS, variance analysis (Actual vs Budget)
  • Work with leadership to provide insights into: Cost control
  • Revenue trends
  • Cash flow
  • Ensure clean, structured data for decision-making
  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, operations, tech) for financial inputs
  • Enforce budget discipline and spending controls
  • Build processes to minimize leakages, errors, or misuse

Requirements

  • Strong experience in end-to-end accounting (not siloed roles)
  • Proven exposure to US accounting (sales tax, filings, compliance)
  • Experience handling multi-entity / global accounting
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks (mandatory)
  • Demonstrated work in automation / process improvements
  • Comfortable working in a lean, high-ownership environment without junior support

Nice to have

  • Experience in startup or high-growth environments
  • Exposure to Zoho Books or similar tools
  • Experience with due diligence, or audits
  • Understanding of transfer pricing and cross-border structures
