We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Melbourne, Florida. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in general accounting, compliance within the defense industry, and proficiency with Deltek Costpoint. This role requires someone with strong attention to detail, capable of managing complex financial processes and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee and execute general ledger tasks, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close activities
Prepare and analyze financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring compliance with U.S. accounting standards
Reconcile balance sheet accounts, manage fixed assets, and maintain accurate depreciation schedules
Ensure compliance with government regulations and industry standards, including cost allocations, indirect rates, and project accounting
Prepare and review incurred cost submissions and other required government financial reports
Utilize Deltek Costpoint for project setup, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and financial reporting
Collaborate with program managers to maintain accurate project budgets, forecasts, and financial visibility
Conduct variance analysis to identify and explain discrepancies between actual, budgeted, and forecasted financial results
Support budgeting and forecasting efforts by providing data-driven insights and preparing detailed reports
Provide financial expertise to internal teams and management through ad hoc reporting and analysis
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the defense industry
Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint is essential
Strong understanding of U.S. accounting standards and government compliance regulations
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions
Exceptional analytical abilities and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
Strong communication skills to work with internal teams, auditors, and government representatives
