We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you will handle advanced accounting functions and ensure compliance with both internal policies and external reporting standards. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to contribute to financial planning, reporting, and process improvement initiatives within a dynamic non-profit organization.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and organizational policies
Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Manage general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed asset accounting as needed
Support budgeting and forecasting efforts, delivering actionable insights through variance analysis
Coordinate external audit preparation and act as a liaison with auditors, regulators, and tax authorities
Implement and maintain internal controls, while identifying opportunities for process improvements
Mentor entry-level accounting staff, delegating tasks and supporting their development
Research complex accounting issues, provide recommendations, and ensure compliance with new standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial initiatives and strategic decision-making
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA or equivalent certification preferred
Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a corporate or detail-oriented services environment
Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations
Advanced proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks
Effective communication abilities to convey financial information clearly to stakeholders
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
