The Senior Accountant role at Xometry India is a comprehensive, hands-on position responsible for the full-cycle accounting of the India entity, which involves managing the general ledger, executing monthly/quarterly/annual close processes, and performing detailed balance sheet and P&L analysis; the role also oversees end-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions; a crucial part of the job is ensuring adherence to local statutory, regulatory, and corporate requirements, coordinating all statutory and internal audits (including SOX support), and handling direct and indirect tax compliance, such as GST, TDS, and corporate income tax computations; finally, the Senior Accountant will work within company ERP systems, identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes, and partner closely with U.S.-based accounting, finance, payroll, and FP&A teams.
Job Responsibility:
Own full-cycle accounting for the India entity, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and reconciliations
Execute and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Prepare and review balance sheet and P&L analyses
investigate and resolve variances
Maintain supporting schedules and documentation in accordance with Indian AS and US GAAP and internal controls
Manage accounts payable processes including vendor setup, invoice processing, payment runs, and expense reimbursements
Oversee accounts receivable, billing, collections, and cash application as applicable
Ensure timely resolution of vendor and customer inquiries
Ensure compliance with local statutory, regulatory, and corporate requirements in India
Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and corporate secretarial firms for statutory audits and filings
Support internal controls, SOX-related documentation, and audit requests from the U.S. corporate team
Maintain proper accounting policies, procedures, and documentation
Work with tax consultants to for GST filings, TDA filings, corporate income tax computations, and withholding tax compliance
Work with external tax advisors on annual tax filings, tax provisions, and regulatory matters
Monitor changes in local tax laws and assess accounting and compliance impact
Work within company ERP and financial systems to ensure accurate and efficient processing
Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and scale accounting processes as the business grows
Partner closely with U.S.-based accounting, finance, payroll, and FP&A teams
Support ad-hoc projects related to global finance transformation, system implementations, or entity expansion
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting
Understanding of US GAAP and India statutory accounting requirements
Experience with GST, TDS, corporate tax, and statutory audits in India
Prior experience working with or for a US-based or multinational company plus
Working knowledge of ERP systems and Excel (Intermediate level)
Nice to have:
Accounting Graduate. CPA/CA/CMA/CS or Inter CA/CS/CMA or equivalent professional qualification preferred
Experience in a public company and/or SOX environment would be a plus
Experience helping stand up or scale a new legal entity
Exposure to global intercompany accounting and consolidations
