Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Lexington, Kentucky. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and improving financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting processes, and supporting the business's overall financial health. This position is well-suited for individuals with a strong background in accounting and a keen eye for detail.

Job Responsibility:

Manage and oversee month-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining detailed documentation
Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure data accuracy and compliance
Conduct account reconciliations to resolve discrepancies and ensure proper reporting
Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow activities
Review and update accounting policies and procedures to align with industry best practices
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations
Analyze financial data to identify trends and recommend process improvements

Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience with a focus on attention to detail
Strong proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger management
Demonstrated expertise in preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations and financial reporting
Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and relevant regulations
Proficiency in accounting software and tools
Exceptional analytical skills with great attention to detail
Effective communication and organizational abilities
