We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This position is based in Farmington, Connecticut, and offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting expert to manage critical financial processes and ensure accuracy in reporting. Job Responsibility:

Prepare and oversee month-end closing procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are properly recorded and reconciled
Create and post journal entries to support the accurate tracking of financial transactions
Conduct detailed account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure proper alignment between company records and bank statements
Analyze financial records and reports to identify discrepancies and resolve any issues
Collaborate with other departments to provide insights and support for budgeting and forecasting
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies in all financial activities
Implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of accounting operations
Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably at a senior level
Proficiency in managing month-end close processes and general ledger maintenance
Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation procedures
Demonstrated experience in performing bank reconciliations with accuracy
Familiarity with accounting standards and best practices
Advanced proficiency in accounting software and tools
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
