We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing financial processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization’s financial goals. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment and brings a detail-oriented approach to complex financial tasks.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee fixed asset management and ensure accurate financial reporting
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including footnotes and detailed reports
Manage month-end and year-end accounting processes to ensure timely and accurate closings
Perform general ledger maintenance and ensure proper reconciliation of accounts
Handle journal entries and ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards
Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support capital budgeting and financial planning
Utilize Workday Financial Management and Ariba procurement systems to streamline processes
Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounting operations
Ensure compliance with US GAAP standards and organizational policies

Requirements:

7+ years of accounting experience, including financial statement preparation and reporting
Proficiency in general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliation
Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and US GAAP standards
Experience with month-end and year-end close processes
Familiarity with financial systems such as Workday Financial Management and Ariba
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail
Effective communication skills for collaboration across all levels of the organization
