Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant on the Westside of Cincinnati. In this role, you will manage key accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. This is a long-term contract position within the manufacturing industry, offering an excellent opportunity for growth and collaboration.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and post accurate journal entries to ensure complete and reliable financial records
Maintain and update amortization schedules for various accounts, including fixed assets and prepaid expenses
Conduct detailed reconciliations of general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies
Perform monthly bank reconciliations and address variances with internal and external stakeholders
Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes by preparing financial schedules and accruals
Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards through thorough documentation of accounting procedures
Collaborate with other departments to gather information necessary for financial reporting and reconciliations
Assist in audit preparation by providing relevant documentation and working closely with auditors
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in accounting operations

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a similar role
Strong expertise in general ledger accounting and month-end close processes
Proficiency in performing detailed account and bank reconciliations
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software
Excellent analytical and organizational abilities with strong communication skills
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards relevant to accounting practices
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and meet deadlines
