Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Woburn, Massachusetts. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a solid background in accounting and financial reporting. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing cost analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries while supporting key financial processes.

Job Responsibility:

Conduct thorough reviews of standard cost updates on a weekly and monthly basis to ensure accuracy
Analyze monthly budget performance against actual results and prepare insightful financial reports
Generate and maintain various financial reports, including inventory trends, variance analysis, and sales gross margin
Prepare and post journal entries such as intercompany transactions, utility accruals, and expense reclassifications
Perform reconciliations for accounts payable, accruals, revenue, capital expenditures, and bank accounts
Monitor and analyze fixed assets, headcount data, and sales allocations to support strategic decision-making
Ensure compliance with accounting standards during the month-end close process
Assist in cycle counts and work order reviews to improve operational efficiency

Requirements:

Strong skills in account reconciliations, including bank accounts and accruals
Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in generating detailed financial reports and variance analyses
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Advanced proficiency with accounting software and financial tools
