We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In this role, you will contribute to critical accounting processes and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate on complex financial analyses, regulatory reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibility:

Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close cycles, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements
Perform detailed analyses of financial data, including account reconciliations, ledger entries, inter-company transactions, and property valuations
Lead or participate in special projects such as system upgrades, rate case support, and process improvement initiatives
Provide consultation and support to internal clients, interpreting financial reports, resolving work orders, and delivering project status updates
Prepare presentations, schedules, and statistical reports for management and external stakeholders
Stay informed on changes to local, state, and federal regulations impacting financial reporting requirements
Identify adverse financial trends through analysis and recommend actionable solutions to mitigate risks
Train and guide entry level analysts, providing direction and support as needed

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience
Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail, preferably in general ledger, journal entries, and financial analysis
Proficiency in month-end close processes and account reconciliation
Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and tax reporting
Experience in public accounting, including audit and tax services
Advanced skills in analyzing financial data and identifying trends
Familiarity with regulatory reporting and compliance standards
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
