We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in New Bedford, Massachusetts. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise in accounting and financial processes. In this role, you will play a vital part in reconciling accounts, improving procedures, and ensuring compliance with auditing standards.
Job Responsibility:
Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Oversee month-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries and adjustments
Maintain and update the general ledger with precision and attention to detail
Conduct bank reconciliations to verify transactions and validate balances
Collaborate with auditors to provide necessary documentation and support
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement effective accounting policies
Utilize advanced Excel skills, including vlookups and pivot tables, for data analysis and reporting
Prepare financial reports and summaries to support management decision-making
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
Assist in the development and refinement of internal procedures to enhance efficiency
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role
Strong knowledge of month-end close processes, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance
Expertise in account and bank reconciliations
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including vlookups and pivot tables
Familiarity with auditing processes and requirements
Ability to identify and implement process improvements
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
