Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis near Lisbon, Maine. This role is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail and a solid background in financial reconciliation and reporting. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and supporting month-end close activities.

Job Responsibility:

Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial standards
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations to maintain a clear and organized record of company finances
Conduct bank reconciliations to verify transactions and resolve discrepancies promptly
Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and properly categorized
Create and post journal entries to support financial reporting and operational requirements
Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data and generate reports
Assist with month-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are accurate
Collaborate with team members to improve reconciliation processes and reporting efficiency
Support audits and provide documentation as needed to validate financial records

Requirements:

Proven experience in account reconciliation and financial reporting
Strong knowledge of balance sheet and bank reconciliation processes
Proficiency in managing general ledger accounts and journal entries
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
Familiarity with month-end close procedures and deadlines
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and meet contract-based deadlines
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
