We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly analytical Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Addison, Texas. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end close processes, and analyzing financial trends to aid business decision-making. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual with a strong background in accounting and finance, particularly in mid to large-sized corporate environments. This is a 6-9 month contract position.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct variance analysis to identify financial trends and anomalies, providing insights that support strategic decision-making
Prepare and review complex journal entries during an accelerated monthly close process
Take ownership of month-end responsibilities, collaborating with team members to improve efficiency and streamline workflows
Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies to maintain the accuracy of financial records
Utilize advanced Excel tools, including pivot tables and formulas, to analyze large datasets effectively
Work closely with other accounting professionals and accounts payable staff to ensure seamless team collaboration
Document processes and maintain internal controls to support compliance and operational efficiency
Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by management
Operate within QAD systems to manage and interpret financial data
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Senior Accountant in mid to large-sized corporate settings, preferably within manufacturing, energy, or similar industries
Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and inconsistencies in complex data
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools
Demonstrated ability to manage accelerated month-end close processes, ideally within a 4-day timeframe
Strong background in preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
