We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing financial processes, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position offers the opportunity to work with complex financial data and contribute to the preparation of key financial statements.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee month-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely completion of financial records
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded
Prepare and post journal entries, including adjusting entries, to ensure financial accuracy
Conduct account reconciliations, including bank and inventory accounts, to resolve discrepancies
Manage monthly accruals and ensure proper allocation of expenses
Create and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
Analyze profit and loss accounts and provide insights into financial performance
Utilize QuickBooks Desktop to manage accounting tasks effectively and efficiently
Monitor asset accounting processes and ensure compliance with accounting principles
Support inventory accounting and ensure accurate valuation of assets

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably with senior-level responsibilities
Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger maintenance
Strong knowledge of journal entries, including adjusting entries
Experience in performing account and bank reconciliations
Familiarity with financial statement preparation, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
Understanding of accrual basis accounting and balance sheet equation principles
Advanced skills in QuickBooks Desktop for accounting purposes
Background in inventory accounting and asset management
