We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Golden, Colorado. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute your expertise in fund and capital asset accounting within the education industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial operations and a proven ability to manage complex accounting tasks.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee month-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to uphold the integrity of financial data
  • Prepare and post journal entries, adhering to company and regulatory standards
  • Conduct detailed account and bank reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues
  • Manage fund accounting activities, including tracking and reporting on fund allocations
  • Handle asset accounting tasks, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with policies
  • Oversee the accounting of capital assets, including depreciation schedules and asset tracking
  • Analyze financial data to support decision-making processes and improve operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance
  • Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements in accounting practices

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting, with a focus on fund and capital asset management
  • Proficiency in month-end close procedures and general ledger maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of journal entry preparation and account reconciliation processes
  • Experience in fund accounting and asset management within a detail-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with capital asset accounting, including depreciation and compliance standards
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams
