We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Livermore, California. This role requires expertise in financial statement preparation, month-end close processes, and advanced proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel. It is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail to contribute their accounting skills in a collaborative environment.

Job Responsibility:

Perform general ledger and bank reconciliations as part of the month-end close process
Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements in compliance with accounting standards
Utilize accounting software and advanced Excel functions to analyze and manage financial data
Review and audit accounts payable transactions, ensuring payments are processed accurately and on time
Collaborate with team members to support financial operations and maintain organizational efficiency
Monitor accruals and journal entries to ensure proper recording of financial transactions
Address discrepancies and resolve issues related to account reconciliations
Maintain organized records and documentation to support audit and reporting requirements
Provide analytical insights to improve the accuracy and efficiency of accounting practices

Requirements:

Proven experience in month-end close processes, including general ledger activities and reconciliations
Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation and accounting principles
Proficiency in using accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel functions
Experience with accounts payable processes, including auditing and payment execution
Ability to manage accruals and journal entries with high accuracy
Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail
