Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support our client's growing finance team in Santa Cruz, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong full-cycle accounting experience, excellent analytical skills, and hands-on experience with NetSuite (required). This role will play a key part in month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibility:

Manage full-cycle accounting activities including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Lead month-end and year-end close processes
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
Review and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Support internal and external audit requests
Identify and implement accounting process improvements and efficiencies
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, AP/AR, and leadership teams
Maintain accurate documentation and financial records within NetSuite

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting experience required
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
NetSuite experience required
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have:

Experience supporting audits and financial compliance
Background in manufacturing, technology, nonprofit, or multi-entity environments
CPA or CPA-track preferred but not required
