Job Description:

We have an excellent opportunity for a Part Time Senior Accountant to join our dynamic client in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In this role, you will play a key part in managing month end close, financial processes, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and providing valuable insights to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will excel in analytical tasks, thrive in collaborative environments, and demonstrate a commitment to precision and efficiency. The role is expected to average 20 hours per week, and after an initial training period there is strong hybrid potential and flexibility in working hours. Job Responsibility:

Prepare detailed journal entries and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy during month-end and year-end closings
Collaborate with the Sales team to calculate pricing strategies that align with revenue and gross margin objectives
Conduct comprehensive monthly gross margin calculations and provide insightful analysis
Compile and review data for weekly financial reports to support organizational planning
Ensure all financial transactions adhere to company policies and regulatory standards
Assist in preparing documentation for external audits, tax filings, and government surveys
Work alongside cross-functional teams to deliver financial insights and contribute to strategic initiatives
Utilize accounting software to maintain and analyze general ledger activities
Support special projects and ad-hoc financial tasks as needed

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance - CPA is a plus
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience with manufacturing accounting processes is preferred
Demonstrated expertise in balance sheet reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger management
Ability to perform detailed gross margin analysis and month-end close procedures
Familiarity with IQMS or similar systems is an advantage
