Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This position offers an excellent opportunity for career growth. Job Responsibility:

Perform month-end close procedures, ensuring accuracy and completing tasks within the close period
prepare and post journal entries while maintaining detailed records and supporting documentation
reconcile balance sheets and bank accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards
assist in the preparation and filing of tax documents, adhering to all regulatory requirements
support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries
analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights for budgeting and forecasting
utilize Excel extensively for financial reporting and data analysis, working with complex spreadsheets
collaborate with the team on general ledger management and ensure proper coding of transactions
contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including potential software transitions and process optimizations.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
proven experience in month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations
proficiency in Excel, with the ability to manage complex spreadsheets and formulas
strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and tax filing requirements
CPA or MBA is a plus
previous experience working in manufacturing is a plus
excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and maintain accuracy
leadership potential demonstrated through project management or team collaboration.
