Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team! This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in public sector financial reporting and expertise in preparing Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards and maintaining the accuracy of financial data.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and contribute to the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, ensuring compliance with public sector standards
Audit and review financial statements and balance sheet transactions to verify accuracy and completeness
Collaborate with internal teams to address discrepancies and ensure timely and precise reporting
Perform detailed account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and general ledger reviews
Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze and report financial data effectively
Maintain thorough documentation of accounting processes and activities
Ensure adherence to financial reporting regulations and requirements specific to public sector entities
Provide support during financial audits by coordinating with relevant stakeholders
Identify and implement corrections to financial records to improve reporting accuracy

Requirements:

At least 5 years of experience in public sector financial reporting, including preparation of Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliations, including bank and general ledger
Strong knowledge of GASB standards and financial reporting regulations
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage complex financial data
Proven ability to work in high-volume transactional environments
Experience ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements for public entities
