We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role is critical to ensuring the financial stability and compliance of a Federally funded Health Center. Job Responsibility:
Oversee and manage monthly close processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts
Develop and monitor annual operating and capital budgets to ensure financial efficiency
Coordinate and support the completion of annual financial audits
Prepare Medicare Cost Reports and other required financial reconciliations
Assist in the preparation of Form 990 and other regulatory filings and grant reports
Conduct ad hoc financial analyses and produce special reporting as needed
Collaborate with leadership to enhance accounting practices and strengthen internal controls
Create training materials and provide cross-training opportunities for accounting staff
Support process improvement initiatives across the accounting team
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or at least five years of relevant experience
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of complex functions
Previous experience in accounting for Health Centers or similar healthcare organizations
Familiarity with non-profit or healthcare accounting practices
Experience managing accounting for multiple entities or organizational segments
Required to have FQHC experience
Nice to have:
Knowledge of Abila MIP accounting software is preferred
