Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in San Francisco, California. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the organization's financial integrity through meticulous analysis and reporting.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and post accurate month-end journal entries in compliance with policy
  • Handle payroll accounting, including accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Reconcile key balance sheet accounts, including accrued expenses
  • Record and amortize prepaid expenses with proper documentation
  • Maintain fixed assets, including depreciation, disposals, and CIP schedules
  • File routine tax and regulatory reports (sales/use, property, parking tax)
  • Manage insurance renewals, certificates, premiums, and claims support
  • Assist with annual audit preparation, schedules, and documentation
  • Review transactions for proper fund and department coding
  • Provide backup support for AP, AR, and cash posting
  • Improve processes, documentation, and reporting accuracy
  • Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 3+ years as a Staff or Senior Accountant
  • Experience with ERP systems (GL, Fixed Assets, Procurement) and payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, Paycom)
  • Knowledge of fund accounting and reconciliations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team-oriented and collaborative
