We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this role, you will provide expert accounting and compliance services to a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and delivering accurate financial reporting. This position offers an opportunity to lead and collaborate on accounting initiatives while supporting business growth and client success.

Job Responsibility:

Manage a portfolio of accounting and compliance engagements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards
Deliver comprehensive accounting services tailored to small and medium-sized businesses
Review and approve journal entries and financial reports prepared by staff accountants
Prepare detailed schedules, including depreciation, accrued revenue, and other financial entries
Ensure proper implementation and operation of clients’ internal control systems
Generate monthly financial reports and provide insightful analysis for clients
Assist clients with government grant accounting and reporting requirements
Lead new clients in establishing grant-compliant accounting frameworks and internal controls
Guide clients through processes such as drawing funds from awarding agencies and preparing accounting policies and procedures manuals
Support clients during financial statement audits and compliance reviews

Requirements:

Proficiency in account and bank reconciliations
Strong understanding of general ledger and journal entry processes
Expertise in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
Experience with month-end close procedures
Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
Knowledge of grant accounting and federal agency requirements
Ability to lead and mentor accounting staff
Exceptional organizational and analytical skills
