Job Description:

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Accountant to join our team in Jonesboro, Arkansas. In this key role, you will help lead financial operations, maintain compliance, and partner across departments to advance our organization’s financial objectives. Your expertise will drive timely, accurate reporting and help optimize accounting practices.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries
  • reconcile general ledger accounts
  • and generate accurate financial statements
  • direct month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely, complete financial reporting
  • collaborate on the development of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to support strategic planning and informed decision-making
  • analyze financial data to highlight performance trends, identify risks, and recommend process improvements
  • manage fixed asset accounting, including maintaining schedules and overseeing depreciation
  • supervise inventory accounting and complete necessary reconciliations
  • ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and external regulatory requirements
  • support internal and external audit activities, providing required documentation and clear explanations as needed
  • assist with tax reporting and filings, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local tax requirements
  • mentor and guide junior accounting staff, fostering their professional growth and development

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • certification or progress toward certification is preferred
  • at least 2 years of progressive experience in accounting
  • proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger management
  • strong skills in preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts
  • experience with bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
  • solid analytical abilities to interpret financial data and identify trends
  • knowledge of tax compliance and regulatory requirements at various levels
  • excellent communication and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
