Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with payroll processing experience to join our team in Fremont, California. This is a long-term contract position within the healthcare industry, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to financial operations in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will excel at managing complex accounting processes, delivering accurate financial reports, and leading key initiatives to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Job Responsibility:

Support with payroll processing in Workday
Prepare and post journal entries
Lead and coordinate monthly variance analysis process
Review journal entries and reconcile hospital general ledger accounts
Compile and prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements
Develop and maintain audit schedules
Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts
Process and obtain approvals for wire transfer requests
Ensure all month-end, quarter-end, and year-end deliverables are completed on schedule
Handle additional tasks assigned by Director of Accounting or Controller

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution
Experience with Workday ERP
A minimum of five years of recent experience in general accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, and audit schedules
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with expertise in creating pivot tables and using vlookups
Previous supervisory experience (preferred)
Healthcare industry experience (a plus)
Public accounting experience, particularly with a Big 4 or regional firm (highly desirable)
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
