Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Louisiana, Missouri. This contract position offers the opportunity to manage key financial processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in financial reporting, account reconciliation, and payroll processing, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and maintain financial records, including balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements on a monthly basis
Manage the general ledger and oversee coding of invoices, account setup, and monthly book closures
Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and handle inquiries from financial institutions
Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices and proper allocation to accounts payable
Provide essential financial reports and insights to the executive management team
Support external auditors by compiling necessary documentation and account information for annual audits
Process payroll and ensure compliance with all tax filing requirements at federal, state, and local levels
Administer 401(k) plans and track employee loans and repayments
Coordinate with software vendors to maintain accounting systems and recommend updates for improved efficiency
Perform additional accounting duties as assigned to support organizational needs

Requirements:

Strong knowledge of general and cost accounting principles
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of three to five years of experience in accounting with a focus on attention to detail
Expertise in month-end close processes, general ledger management, and journal entries
Proven ability to conduct account and bank reconciliations accurately
