We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a reputable healthcare nonprofit organization in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to corporate accounting and financial operations while working in a hybrid environment with flexibility to work remotely several days a week. Job Responsibility:
Manage month-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
Oversee general ledger activities, maintaining compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with accounting principles
Conduct account reconciliations to verify balances and resolve discrepancies
Complete bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow tracking
Collaborate with team members on financial analysis specific to the healthcare sector
Assist in maintaining compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and practices
Provide insights into financial data to support organizational decision-making
Contribute to process improvements within the accounting department to enhance efficiency
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior-level capacity
Strong expertise in month-end close procedures and general ledger management
Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations
Familiarity with bank reconciliations and cash flow management
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment
Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage multiple priorities effectively
Nice to have:
Knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards is advantageous but not required
Experience in healthcare analytics or financial operations is a plus
