We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in San Jose, California. In this long-term contract role, you will play a critical part in managing regulatory reporting for a banking organization, ensuring compliance with industry standards. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in financial management and accounting within the banking sector.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and submit regulatory reports, including call reports and other required filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with banking regulations
Manage the month-end close process, including reviewing journal entries and reconciling accounts
Oversee the general ledger to maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial records
Conduct financial statement audits and collaborate with auditors to provide necessary documentation and insights
Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting
Support asset and liability management processes to optimize the bank's financial position
Provide expertise in retail banking operations to align financial practices with organizational goals
Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and internal policies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support various financial initiatives

Requirements:

Proven experience in regulatory reporting within the banking or financial services industry
Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and general ledger management
Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements and conducting audits
Expertise in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation
Familiarity with asset liability management and retail banking operations
