Job Description

Are you ready to take the next step in your career and play an important role in the financial management of Denmark's largest parking company? At APCOA, we are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant, who will have a great deal of independent responsibility for accounting quality, structure and timeliness in our finance function. You will be part of our finance department and will work closely with skilled colleagues in the department, at our head office in Vejle. The position has a strong operational focus and is crucial for our monthly and quarterly reporting to meet high professional standards

Job Responsibility

  • Month-end and quarter-end
  • Independent responsibility for the implementation of month- and quarter-end closing for the areas you will be responsible for
  • Posting of accruals, reclassifications and adjustments
  • Ensuring correct accrual and meeting deadlines
  • Reconciliation of revenue, banking, accounts receivable and payment services
  • Ensuring full settlement at the end of the month
  • Responsibility for fixed asset register and depreciation and leasing accounts
  • Preparation of CAPEX inventories
  • Monthly and quarterly reporting to external parties
  • VAT reconciliation and ensuring internal controls
  • Preparation of material for the auditor and participation in the audit process

Requirements

  • Several years of experience from a similar position as a Senior Accountant or equivalent
  • Have a relevant financial education and/or solid practical accounting experience
  • Have in-depth experience with month-end closing and complex reconciliations
  • Works safely in Excel and generally has a good understanding of the system
  • Are quality-conscious, independent and thrive on fixed deadlines
  • Are comfortable with written and spoken English

  • Handle accounting support for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and payables while reviewing invoice treatment for proper coding and period allocation
  • Complete balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, including cash, receivables, and payables, and investigate outstanding variances to resolution
  • Develop standard and custom financial reports for management and provide insights into trends, accrual requirements, and performance fluctuations
  • Assist with budget development and forecasting activities, including providing financial information to operations teams and loading budget data for variance analysis
  • Support internal and external audit requests by assembling schedules, supplying testing documentation, and addressing follow-up questions
  • Review work completed by entry-level accounting staff and offer coaching, direction, and constructive feedback to strengthen overall team performance
