Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in San Diego, California. In this role, you will oversee critical accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records while contributing to process improvements. Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and review general ledger accounts to ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with company standards
  • Analyze financial data to perform reconciliations and create journal entries with precision
  • Manage accounting processes for promotional trade credits, including ensuring accuracy, scalability, and proper presentation in financial statements
  • Conduct financial analyses to identify and explain fluctuations in key accounts such as operating expenses, reserves, and freight costs
  • Assist with the annual audit process and ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards
  • Collaborate on special projects and perform ad-hoc financial analyses as needed
  • Implement and support automated systems to streamline accounting processes and improve controls
  • Monitor and evaluate financial reporting systems, suggesting enhancements to improve efficiency
  • Ensure timely and accurate period-end book closures to meet company deadlines

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in finance and accounting
  • public accounting experience is preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in NetSuite and associated platforms is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and ensure accuracy in reporting
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a commitment to process improvement
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a detail-oriented approach
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to shared goals
