Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant with expertise in SEC reporting to join our team on a contract basis. This role is based in Newton, Massachusetts, and offers the opportunity to contribute to critical accounting functions while collaborating with a dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills and prior public company experience to ensure compliance and accuracy in reporting.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and review SEC filings, including 10-Q and 10-K reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations
Draft and analyze technical accounting memos and whitepapers to address complex financial reporting issues
Utilize NetSuite and ActiveDisclosure software to manage reporting processes effectively
Collaborate with internal teams to implement and streamline accounting procedures
Ensure adherence to GAAP standards in all financial reporting processes
Support audits by providing accurate documentation and responding to inquiries
Assist in identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies and issues
Partner with the Controller to enhance reporting practices and maintain timely submissions
Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial controls and processes
Stay updated on changes in SEC regulations and accounting standards to ensure compliance

Requirements:

Experience working in Big 4 Public Accounting or equivalent firms
Proven track record in public company accounting and SEC reporting
Proficiency in drafting technical accounting memos and whitepapers
Familiarity with NetSuite and ActiveDisclosure software
Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Effective communication skills to convey complex financial concepts clearly
