Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract‑to‑hire opportunity supporting day‑to‑day accounting operations, month‑end close, and financial reporting. This role will partner closely with the Controller and broader finance team to maintain accurate financial records, improve processes, and provide reliable support during a period of workload or transition, with the opportunity to convert to full‑time based on performance and business needs.

Job Responsibility

  • Own and execute month‑end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Prepare and review balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, researching and resolving variances
  • Support financial reporting and provide clear explanations of results to finance leadership
  • Assist with audit support, including preparation of schedules and responding to auditor requests
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting documentation
  • Partner cross‑functionally with AP, AR, Operations, and FP&A to ensure accurate financial data
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency
  • Support ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing, distribution, or a similar environment
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, month‑end close, and account reconciliations
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups)
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, Dynamics, SAP, or similar)
  • Ability to step into a fast‑moving environment and add value quickly
  • Clear communicator with a collaborative, detail‑oriented approach
