Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a dynamic business consulting and advisory firm based in Alexandria, Virginia. This is a contract opportunity, offering the chance to work alongside a skilled accounting team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting key accounting operations.

Job Responsibility:

Manage general ledger activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts
Oversee month-end and quarter-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Assist in preparing financial reports and maintaining internal schedules
Handle bank reconciliations to verify and maintain financial integrity
Support monthly financial statement preparation to provide a clear overview of company performance
Provide ad hoc accounting assistance as needed to address emerging tasks and priorities

Requirements:

Proven experience in general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation
Strong knowledge of month-end closing processes and financial reporting
Proficiency in account and bank reconciliation methods
Familiarity with preparing monthly financial statements and related documentation
Solid understanding of US GAAP
