Job Description:

We are representing a rapidly growing client in North County who is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This role is designed for a seasoned accounting professional who can confidently handle complex reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting while also serving as a mentor to junior staff. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller or Accounting Manager and will play an important role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial data. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is looking to grow into a leadership role.

Job Responsibility:

Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Perform advanced account reconciliations and variance analysis
Prepare journal entries and financial statements in compliance with GAAP
Support the budgeting and forecasting process with financial data and analysis
Oversee fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules
Assist with external audits, ensuring proper documentation and schedules are available
Provide guidance and mentorship to staff and junior accountants
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency in accounting workflows

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
CPA or progress toward certification preferred
5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in both corporate and public accounting environments
Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices
Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel functions
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have:

CPA or progress toward certification preferred
Experience in both corporate and public accounting environments
