Job Description

Senior Accountant assists the CFO, VP Finance and Accounting Manager with accounting and finance functions such as month end close and budgeting. The role involves e-mail and telephone communications with the Company’s staff, including the Leadership Team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for month end close duties, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Senior Accountants must possess excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, understand the importance of confidentiality and understand accounting processes. Senior Accountants are self-motivated and able to work independently and without excess direction or supervision. They must also possess a strong attention to detail. Senior Accountants are deadline-driven and have the ability to work confidently and effectively within a high volume, fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee financial reporting processes, including preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
  • Coordinate external audits
  • Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions
  • Assist with financial planning and forecasting activities
  • Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and regulations
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as needed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on finance-related projects
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure adequate funding through preparation of cash forecast
  • Complete month end closing, including review of financial statements, and preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Communicate financial results and recommendations to management
  • Assist with NetSuite accounting software automation

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis
  • Experience with financial software and ERP systems preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial records
  • Strategic financial planning and forecasting abilities
  • Leadership skills in guiding accounting teams and projects
  • Intermediate – advanced Microsoft Excel skills
