We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Elmhurst, Illinois. In this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing reporting processes, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our accounting operations. Job Responsibility:
Prepare, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts and journal entries to ensure accuracy and completeness
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures, adhering to strict deadlines
Ensure compliance with established financial policies and regulatory requirements, including GAAP standards
Assist in the creation and analysis of financial statements, forecasts, and budgets
Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement
Facilitate external audits by preparing necessary documentation and liaising with auditors
Evaluate and enhance accounting procedures and internal controls to improve efficiency and accuracy
Mentor entry level accounting team members, providing guidance and support for their development
Collaborate with departments such as FP& A, operations, and HR to deliver insightful financial analysis
Participate in special projects, including process automation and system enhancements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
At least 10 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a mid-size or larger organization
Proficiency in GAAP standards and financial reporting practices
Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis
Experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar platforms
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration
