Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in Southaven, Mississippi. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, and has a strong background in general ledger accounting.

Job Responsibility:

Manage the month-end close process, ensuring all financial information is accurate and submitted on time
Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and classified
Prepare and post journal entries while ensuring compliance with accounting policies and standards
Perform detailed account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data and resolve discrepancies
Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between internal records and bank statements
Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements
Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and provide necessary documentation
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement best practices
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Provide guidance and support to entry-level accounting staff as needed

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on general ledger and financial reporting
Strong knowledge of month-end close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations
Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulatory requirements
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
